There was (as usual) an issue with IE6 and the highscore table, which I have now resolved. Turns out that you can't be implicit about table widths, you have to be more explicit. Setting the table to 98% width stops it falling off the bottom of the page, so the highscores now look like highscores.
Yay for ie.

Upcoming updates
For those who like to keep abreast of these things, I'm working on a map editor for Onslaught, so you can design and play your own maps. For the moment they're just for your local enjoyment but there will be facilities to upload and share maps in the near future.
Hang tight, map editor nearly done!

BFGTazer Bug
There was a bug with the BFGTazer that caused an instant kill on whatever the BFG ball hit. I've fixed this in the 1057 release so all should be well.

v1055-spoon: New Features
Fingers crossed I've not broken anything too large but I've added a new feature to the yellow turrets. Drop one somewhere, open up the info panel and select the new "charge" information. The turret charges up for a bigger hit between attackers, using up some of it's charge per hit. You get a big hit to begin with then it tails off.
I'll let you all play with it and work out the specifics :)

Onslaught on New Grounds
I put Onslaught2 onto New Grounds today, so we'll see what the community think of it:
http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/385302
So far it's a positive response but the main point to take home is that I need sound. I'm waiting for a response from another chap about sound, so hopefully I should be able to get a basic soundset in place for the most recent version.

Scoreboard 3/4 done now
Yay! The scoreboard is back up and running again!
http://onslaught.playr.co.uk/scores/scores.last.1.html
So you can see all your high scores. The final part is yet to come, where you can view other people's games. The data is being stored ready for when this part is done, but for the moment you can just see who's better than who, not why.
Enjoy!

Smelling Pistakes
Plenty of nice grammatical errors spotted by OSGamer, resulting in cleaner grammar and an altogether happier Gaby.
Thanks OSGamer!
In other news, two new combos.

Bugs bugs bugs
There seem to be a few bugs in the most recent version:
- Blue turrets firing a 'wall' of bullets that don't go away
- Infinte (NaN) money hack
- No Turret on the info panel

Scoreboard
I've been tweaking things again, I think I've managed to make score submission work again. For the moment scores can be sent in but I'm still working on the scoreboard software, so that'll be up shortly.
To use the scores you need to be using version 1050-plump and upwards, it's got the working code in. 1048-yipyip had some of the code but not the code that let it actually submit the scores, hence the error. Clear your browser cache to get the latest version.

Documentation updates
Made some small changes and improvements to the How to Play section, splitting it into more manageable chunks and adding the information about keyboard shortcuts. If I cocked anything up, please let me know!

Onslaught2 - Updates
New in version 1046-chin:
In other news my original hosting has been cancelled (ec2-1.playr.co.uk). The EC2 instance was shutdown while I was on honeymoon and I can't bring it back up. What this means is that all the high score data is stuck there and until I can get through to RightScale support I can't get it back... :( So I will try and make high scores work again soon but for the moment, nothing to report on that front.
Secondary to this, the game is now hosted on:
http://onslaught.playr.co.uk
Which should be a bit more robust now. Happy happy joy joy!
Gaby
- Hold down shift when building to build several of something quickly
- Fixed free upgrade bug in top left corner
- Turrets must now bear round to their target, rather than just snapping to it. Looks cooler :)
- Moving a tazer turret now recalculates the places where it can lay black holes
- Moving a blue turret now recalcaultes where it can lay mines
- Stunned attackers no longer speed up again when the game is paused
